In the year 2010 World Wide consumption of energy in BTU's will be 508 Quadrillion BTU's, which equates in kilowatts to be
148,844,000,000,000 KW's x .064/KW (average cost per kW)=$9,526,000,000,000, mostly from carbon based fuels. If by the year 2016 we substitute a minimum of at least 1% of carbon based fuels with renewable energy protocols and/or systems then the aforementioned figure of ($9,526,000,000,000 ) would equate to $95,260,000,000 as a possible long term estimate; which is a conservative figure when you consider that world wide energy demand will increase at a rapid rate over the next 30 years.In addition if we adopt a policy of substituting renewable energy fuels for carbon based fuels and nuclear power between 2010 to 2016 we will eliminate 924,000,000,000 pounds of CO 2 and related pollutants/year from the atmosphere plus nuclear waste associated nuclear power. This will go along way toward reducing global warming, world wide pollution and related problems such as:
1- Natural Resource Depletion
2- Greenhouse Effect
3- Ozone Destruction
4-Toxic Emissions
5- Acid Rain
6- Oil Imports
7- Balance of Payment Deficit (Trade)
8- CO 2 & SO2 Emissions
9- Destruction of Wet Lands and Wild Life Habitat we are currently encountering in the Gulf of Mexico.
In view of the above shown global problems that continue to play out, our renewable energy systems are good ideas whose time has come and should be considered investment grade stock for a wide variety of principals and investors (The Motely Fool investors guide states that renewable energy investments and potential appreciation will be ten(10) times bigger than when the Internet started.
